It's hard to believe it's already December considering it was 70 degrees yesterday in Chicago. Even so, I've rounded up my favorite cold weather beauty products (each under $10) for my simple "all bundled up under a scarf and hat" wintery look.
1:: CoverGirl CG Smoothers BB Cream, $7.29
This product is an oldie but a goodie on this blog of mine. This Beauty Balm (BB) cream is so lightweight, doesn't crease or cake and provides all day coverage while keeping the skin moisturized and soft.
2:: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, $9.00
Use immediately after you get out of the shower. Do not pass go. This cream moisturizer is one of the best beauty bargains I've ever come across. I use the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion during the summer, spring and fall months, but my combination skin calls for some heavy duty moisture during the dry, cold winter. Both the cream and lotion are oil-free and non-comedogenic.
3:: Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Pink Rose, $6.00
A lot of cheap blushes look, well, cheap. But I've found an exception with Rimmel. The Pink Rose shade is the perfect blend of light color and shimmer and still manages to look natural.
4:: Palmer's Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Pack $1.99
I let my naturally curly hair air dry most of the year. But when the temps drop, I like to blow dry my hair straight or wavy. Several weeks of that really dry out my already brittle hair, so I make sure to use this deep conditioner every other week to replenish the moisture in my strands. And it smells divine!
5:: Essie "Merino Cool" Nail Polish, $8.00
It's Essie. It's a warm grey. Enough said.
6:: NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker, $8.47
This liquid eyeliner pen is a more economical version of a Marbella product I fell in love with after receiving it in a MyGlam beauty bag. This NYX marker is just as good and glides on just as smoothly. It's safe to say I've converted.
7:: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara in Black, $8.53
I used to be a mascara snob, but with age I've realized that inexpensive options can work just as well. This Rimmel version is better than any department store brand I've ever used. No clumps, just lashes for days. I have even been asked if they're real...my eyelashes that is.
8:: Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Honeysuckle, $6.99
I've saved the best for last. This lip balm is super creamy and long-lasting and is not at all sticky. Best of all, it has a light sheer pink tint to make you look put together without overdoing it.
Also, I wanted to provide a quick update for a beauty product I've been using for a few months. This Boots No7 Protect & Perfection Serum claimed to reduce wrinkles by 50% in just four weeks. While I've been using it longer, I don't notice a decrease in wrinkles, but I will say the skin on my forehead feels softer and smoother so I think I'll keep using it for that reason.
