The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer ($24) is a serious highlighter and not for the faint of heart! If you have really been watching my videos and reading my blog, then it comes as nosurpriseto you that I love highlighters! It is my favorite step in the whole makeup process, and it is something I take very seriously. All that being said, I think I stumbled upon my Holy Grail (HG) of highlighters!

Mary-Lou Manizer is a highly pigmented champagne highlighter that luminizes your face by diffusing light making your skin look softer and younger. This product is finely-milled and contains no glitterparticles, allowing it to blend out very easily – which is a must for a product that is this pigmented. Unlike other highlighters, Mary-Lou won’taccentuateyour pores or the fine lines around your eye area, so it gives a perfect sheen to your cheeks. This is a veryversatilehighlighter, and can be used anywhere – cheeks, eyes, cupids bow, body, you name it! It is also very flattering on warm and cool skin toned girls alike, truly something everyone can wear!

I find myself reaching for Mary-Lou Manizer over my NARS Albatross highlighter on a regular basis. I believe it works best on me in the winter months, since I am paler now, and Albatross can be too golden. Mary-Lou Manizerseems to blend into my skin better and creates a sheen on my cheeks, where my NARS Albatross tends to leave achalkywhite residue. Plus it is double the size of my NARS blushes – giving me 8.5g of shimmery product!

This highlighter is extremely long wearing on me and lasted all day – until I want to take my makeup off at night. I love to use it as a highlight on my cheeks and my brow bone area. Just remember to keep a light hand when applying this, and any highlighter really, too much of this product can make you look very plastic doll-like right quick!

If your skin is feeling a bit dull this winter, I strongly suggest you pick up this highlighter! It will immediately brighten up a dull face and give you a healthy glow. Even in the middle of winter!I found Mary-LouManizerthrough my monthly subscription of BirchBox, and as soon as I tried the sample size, I knew I had to have the larger version!
