Here is one of my favorite “You don’t need to spend tons of money to get a great coat” stories. (Yes…for the record, I have a few.)
One chilly November, probably three years ago, hubs and I were walking around Greenwich Village and stopped into a little boutique. I perused around the store and until I saw it in the corner, calling my name. It was beautiful and it fit me like a glove. Cut with perfection, beautifully lined, and candy apple red to boot, this pea coat was perfect…that was until I saw the price. It was way out of my budget and as much as I loved it I knew it wasn’t coming home with me. I sadly walked out of the store and I thought about this coat for weeks.
Flash forward to the day after Christmas when hubs and I were visiting his mother and silly me didn’t pack a jacket. We quickly stopped into Marshalls and there it was. I ran to it, tried it on, and anxiously looked at the price tag…$25.00! Hooray! The pea coat was coming home with me. The End.
The moral of this story is really what I consider to be the mantra of this blog: don’t settle for a high price! You may have to wait just a little longer, but in the end, it’s that much sweeter. And who knows, maybe your perfect pea coat is below!
