Polish Post: Red and Green Candy Cane Stripe Christmas Nails

You know how much I enjoy combining my love for holidays and nail art, so for this Christmas season, I did an updated version of the candy cane nails I tried last year. It's simple (promise) and wonderfully festive.

Pick your favorite red (I used Julep's "Sharon", a deep red shimmer from the Julep Maven December "It Girl" box) and green polishes (I used Sally Hansen's "Jumpin' Jade") and alternate painting two coats of each shade on your nails. Let dry. Using a white striper polish, carefully paint two pairs of skinny stripes diagonally on each nail (there should be a wide gap between the pairs to get the candy cane effect) and let dry. With a gold glitter polish (I used Julep's "Vivien", also from my December box), paint a sheer wash of shimmer over each pair of white stripes for extra sparkle.

Polishes Used: Hunter green metallic shimmer (Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry in "Jumpin' Jade" 22) | Cranberry red metallic shimmer (Julep's "Sharon") | Multi-dimensional gold glitter (Julep's "Vivien") | White striper nail art polish (L.A. Color's Art Deco in white)

I got the red and gold polishes from my Julep Maven subscription. You can join here if you'd like. Get your first box for $0.01 (a penny!) with code COLOR2012.

What's on your nails?
Let me know if you have something fun and creative on your nails for the holidays or new year!
