I’ll be the first one to say mixing prints can be pretty intimidating, right? Of course I’m right. From stripes to polka dots to paisley to leopard, how can a girl choose!? Well good thing this mixed print trend thing is on a roll like a steam train and we don’t have to choose just one print. I’ll admit that I’m usually pretty adventurous when it comes to trying new styles and trends but still the art of mixing prints eludes me at times. Here are some helpful tips (for both you and I) to keep in mind when mixing those printed pieces!

  •  Keep prints in the same color family or tone
  • Combining items with the same print works too a la polka dot on polka dot or stripes on stripes
  • Speaking of stripes they’re fairly easy to pair with other smaller prints in the same color family
  • Think outside the box and try stripes with polka dots or separately with leopard. I personally happen to think leopard goes with everything!

Bonus: Mixing prints greatly increases the number of outfit possibilities in your wardrobe! The best part of which is absolutely no damage done to your wallet! New outfits without having to spend a dime? I’m in.
