L'Oréal's new app for Xbox is giving us another reason to fight over the TV with our roommates and boyfriends (as if Revenge, Homeland and pirated episodes of Downton Abbey weren't already enough). Called The Next Level, the beauty platform's not only fun but also sort of functional. The more you use it to interact with other product-obsessed people, the more credits you get towards real, 3D beauty products from lines under the L'Oréal umbrella (including Essie, Maybelline and Kiehl's).

Putting in the time should be easy, too, with features like weather-based beauty recommendations and how-to tutorial videos. Oh, and style advice accompanying those beauty looks, handpicked from yours truly, the Lucky editors (see a little preview below). Killing time shouldn't be a challenge on The Next Level, but there is one problem we foresee: calloused thumbs. Although, of course, there's a product for that, too.
