Mastering the art of layering is crucial to (comfortably) surviving the winter months, especially when you don’t know what your destination’s temperature may be. A trip to shop at a department store can result in high blasting heat, causing you to strip down to your minimal layer. A date night’s pre-dinner drink at the bar area which resides next to the rotating door may leave you shivering and wondering if this is any improvement from standing outside on the street corner. Fortunately, looking fashionable in any of these situations can be very doable with my two “layering musts”: 1. a fur vest (don’t flip PETA activists… a thick faux one is encouraged) and 2. a medium weight jacket – I have a great leather one by June. And the best part – even if necessary to strip down layer by layer, you will still look adorable as your outfit evolves! What I also love about this layered look is that it is versatile for day or night! In my pics I show how I layer these pieces over a casual cotton scoop neck long sleeve for a weekend day of walking SOHO, but catch me at work, you will see me layering over a silky flowy blouse, and date night you can spot me layering over a sexy strappy tank! So put those days of shivering behind you and get layering now!!
