Clarins Daily Energizer Lotion SPF15- What I love: This day cream is part of my regular morning routine. It compliments the cleanser and toner of the same namesake and brings colour and glow to the skin instantly. One of the key reasons the lotion is my go-to is the light texture which doesn’t make my face feel weighted down or oily since it absorbs quickly. What I don’t love: If you are prone to dry skin and find yourself in an environment that aggravates it, this may not be the cream for you. Combined with the other Energizing products, it may compound the drying effects if you aren’t finding enough moisture elsewhere.
Clinique Moisture Surge Intense- What I love:
Nearly everything! I was introduced to this treatment via a bag of
deluxe samples and couldn’t be happier to have come across it. This
cream is not for everyday use but is definitely what you need if your
dry or flaky skin needs a drink. Use over 1-2 days should give you
results, helping your skin feel awake and refreshed. What I don’t love:
The thick texture of the cream can leave skin feeling like there is an
extra, sticky layer. Use at night so this effect is less noticeable…
It’s a worthy price to pay for re-hydration! *Great treatment for dire winter conditions
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream- What I love: The light, absorbent texture and scent of this mineral water and algae extract-based cream is refreshing. I have been using it as a compliment to my Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate when I need additional moisture at night but it is great for any time of day. What I don’t love: If you have very dry skin, you may not find this cream leaves your face feeling 100% smooth.
Jo Malone Vitamin E Moisturizing Day Creme SPF15- What I love- After searching near and far for this cream (The SPF means it isn’t available in Canada due to differing regulations), I should hope it turns out to be my soulmate. The sweet scent is fantastic and the rich, thick texture makes it great for skin that needs hydrating. What I don’t love: While this cream provides a high level of moisture, the drawback is the feeling that it never completely sinks in. I reserve it for times that my skin needs a bit extra since I don’t like the weight on an everyday basis. *Great treatment for dire winter conditions
Clarins Hydraquench Cream- What I love: After coming across this cream in a gift with purchase, I found it left my skin feeling soft and smooth. What I don’t love: While I am an avid collector of all things Clarins, I don’t know if this is the right fit for me. I wasn’t thrilled with the less than subtle scent that screamed ‘your mom’s face cream’ and found that it felt thick and heavy upon initial application, though I do have to admit this feeling doesn’t last too long.
