Tights sometimes feel like a blogger stereotype because we seem to talk about them (and wear them) incessantly the second that fall hits. Nevertheless, I just had to include these beauties in my Friday faves this week because truth be told, I want every single pair of them. I do. If you've got tights on the mind like I do, you might want to head over to ModCloth and check out the endless selection they've got right now. My bank account might not be thrilled after the tights galore shopping spree on which I'm about to embark, but I certainly am.
Is this not the cutest winter coat of all time? The curved collar, the faux shearling lining on the hood, the jet pockets... If this coat was mine it might even reduce the excessive amount of complaining I do about the impending doom known as Chicago winter. Maybe.
So the fine folks at Fair Ivy sent me this absolutely elegant handmade geometric necklace by Huiyitan and I haven't been able to take it off all week. I am officially in love with the necklace, and I'm also in love with the entire concept of their company. Subscription services are huge right now, but their mission in a little different. Every month, they carefully select 2-4 handmade gifts, each of which is made by an artisan who lovingly creates and wraps their item just for you. Pretty special.
Let's face it. As much as we're all sunshiney people who ooze rainbows and sugar cookies 99% of the time, we also sometimes just want to punch things in the face. I'm thinking this book would come in quite handy during those times. We're only human, after all.
When I received these killer late 1950's vintage sunglasses in the mail from my friends over at The Vintage Optical Shop my jaw kinda dropped. I've never owned a pair of true vintage sunnies, and I was amazed at the quality and workmanship that went into them in comparison to the cheap, mass-produced sunglasses you often see today. Although the sun has already decided to bid us farewell for the season here in Chicago (grrrrr), I've been sporting these babies all week, and can't wait to wear them every single day on Robbie's band trip to Mexico in December.
It's been seven years since my last tattoo, and both of these make me itch for another. Mine are simple and black, and very similar in style to these. The arrow especially appeals to me, and I'd sure love to find the original source, if any of you happen to know. (I found the image on Pinterest.)
Two things. 1. I've always wanted a pocket watch. 2. I love Audrey Hepburn. Therefore, it only makes sense that the Fashionably Late Pocket Watch Necklace needs to make its way into my jewelry box.
The dudes at Maniac Pumpkin Carvers aren't messing around. Van Gogh? Escher? My triangle-eyed, one-toothed jack o' lantern is feeling pretty inadequate right about now. Amazing.
Time for another edition of Friday is for Favorites! For new readers, 'Friday is for Favorites' is my (almost*) weekly series where I become a rebel, and break all of my own rules of design cohesiveness to which I normally adhere on the Bubby and Bean blog. No themes, trend collections, or matching aesthetics here. Just a gathering of a few random things that I happen to be loving most this particular week, now shared with you. *I haven't done one since August so even saying "almost" weekly is basically a big lie. But it's the thought that counts.
What are your plans this weekend? This is the first full weekend I've been in town for weeks, so I'm looking forward to some serious chill time. I'm having a slumber party at my friend Annie's tonight so I can smother her adorable little 3 month old baby with love, and then tomorrow morning I'm attending my friend Heidi's baby shower. Sunday, Robbie comes home from tour for a couple of days, and aside from dorking out at the local pumpkin patch, I plan to lie on the couch with him and do a whole lot of nothing, thankyouverymuch.
I hope the rest of your Friday is wonderful (and your weekend too!).
