Welp, in case you haven't heard by now, I'm officially back in the city after a much needed mini vacation in CT (Not rehab, but winter break. Clarification may be needed for the non-college-student crowd). What does this mean for you dear reader? I'm so glad you asked. Several things:
1.) NEW OUTFIT POSTS
2.) NYFW POSTS [ed note: !!! ]
3.) NEW MISCELLANEOUS POSTS
4.) PROBABLY MORE TWEETS ABOUT LATE NIGHT JUNK FOOD BINGES FROM THE STRESS OF POSTING SO PROLIFICALLY.
5.) NOT MUCH ELSE
I've been dying to try florals after Dolce & Gabbana's GORGEOUS sicilian folklore inspired scarves
from their S/S 2013 show. I know what you're thinking, "Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking." (shout out to my homie Miranda Priestly, luv u fureva bbygrl), so how about florals in the DEAD of winter? How's that? Still hate me? Whatever, I tried.
Since the floral trousers were so girly, I wanted to toughen the look up a bit with this AMAZING vintage Harley leather jacket stolen from my friend Rafe. I love how it's so unabashedly large and oversized. I think it really keeps the outfit from getting too girly and contrived. I love dressing girly but I feel like whenever I try to dress über feminine it looks cheap and Forever 21-ish.
My favorite part about this outfit definitely has to be those sunglasses though. They're from Lookmatic which is this eyewear company I recently found out about after reading all about their killer celeb collaborations. These are called the "Patti Goes to Paris"
and they're designed by Kristen Lee, creative director of L.A.'s TenOverSix boutique. They're inspired by the cat eye frames Patti Smith wore to Paris in Just Kids,
which is one of my favorite books about NYC and more specifically, my neighborhood - Chelsea.
P.S. Aren't these photos great? My bestie Rafe took 'em and you should check out his fashion blog
for more mizzy (that's his word, synonymous with amaze/chic/gorge) photos here:
