For the past four years, Michelle Obama has educated us all about fashion, wowing us with wearable, affordable and accessible pieces which was indeed visible Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention. Dressed in a pink and grey cocktail-length dress, designed by Tracy Reese (a mid-range priced dress) paired with J. Crew s $245 suede pumps.

Then last week, Ann Romney dazzled us in a Oscar De La Renta  red dress ensemble at the Republican National Convention. The reportedly $2,000 silk taffeta dress from De La Renta’s pre-fall 2012 collection has always been a favorite amongst “first ladies” – de la Renta was famous for dressing Jackie Kennedy.
