As far back as I can remember, I was obsessed with having perfectly clear and glowing skin. I wanted to be Jennifer Love Hewitt in those Neutrogena commercials (I know I’m not alone!). Growing up, I tried everything – over the counter products, every concoction in magazines, and of course Proactiv and dermatologist recommended products. But, like most, my teenage years into my early twenties focused on battling breakouts and fighting oily skin that the thought of dewy and glowing skin seen in magazines seemed impossible. At 26, I finally feel that the break outs have stopped and I have a skin balancing regimen in order after two years. Once that battle ended though, a new one began – the fight to protect my skin, fight wrinkles and boost moisture while keeping a younger and radiant complexion.

I have always been the girl to meet someone random and comfortably ask “You have amazing skin. What do you use?”.  I would consistently hear suggestions like oils, serums, and creams. I would shake my head and say, “No no, I have oily skin, I can’t use that.” After feeling like I was fighting a losing battle and seeing women in their 40′s and 50′s who swear by products that include Retinol, Peptides and vitamin C, I gave in. I started doing my own research and taking baby steps into trying items like Epicure’s Moisture Surge Serum, then the Dr. Hauschka’s Regenerating Serum, then moved onto the Clarins Lotus Face Treatment, and most recently my nighttime regimen using Joe Malone’s Vitamin E gel. I glob it all over my face and wake up feeling soft and supple.

It’s not difficult to find the right one for you. Do you have Super Dry Skin? I recommend the Bobby Brown Extra Face OilFor Combination Skin, try Clarins Lotus Face TreatmentFor Anti-Aging, try Marula Pure Marula Oil. I have learned that Jo Malones Vitamin E can be used as a more concentrated spot treatment for dry spots, eye areas, or even to treat scars. For Acne Prone Skin, it’s not recommended to move onto oil treatments just yet. Take the steps to clear up, balance, than glow.
