I have been a fan of Alice Temperley from the time she wonElle Magazine's Best Young Designer of the Year Award in 2004. She has a very British eclectic vibe in her designs. They are young, fresh, and very chic. Very soon she would get mainstream press when Hollywood darlings, likeReese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez, Kate Bosworth, Jessica Alba, Beyonce, and Scarlett Johansson, and Britain's elite of stars, such asKeira Knightly, Emma Watson, Pippa Middleton, and the Dutchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton), wore her labels 'Temperley London" and "Alice" on the red carpet. She was certainly the Brit fashion designer to watch out for!
But it was not until three years later since she won the Elle Award that I, along with the mass of budget-style lovingfashionistas, would have a chance to put some Temperleys into our own closets when she launched a capsule collection with Target's Go International line. This move was excellent in getting her name out to more American households and tapping a larger demographic. Her collection with Target, although it did not have the trademark Temperley flowy dresses, was an exciting array of fast-forward jersey pieces, ruffled Victorian-style blouses, and cropped tapered trousers. It sold out fast.
I have been itching for more of Temperley since the Target collection in 2007, but she has not done a designer collaboration that would be fit my style budget until now. And it happens to be with my very favorite costume jewelry company Stella and Dot, which I have been merchandising as a Stylist this past year. With this recent newsI feel doubly rewarded because I will soon get my hands on a Temperley design and I get the opportune to be a part of a company who brought her first entrance into the jewelry design market. This is extremely exciting!
During a recent Stella and Dot Stylist meeting I had a chance to previewAlice Temperley's Wonderland Charm Bracelet. The gold-plated brass bracelet has theseadorable whimsical charms that are very meaningful to the designer. The crown represents the British Monarchy and the designer's British heritage, the heart locket is a replica of a locket she has and it represents love, and the fox represents her son Fox London and her affinity to foxes as she sees them as a symbol of luck , and the Key Charm is a symbol from the classic 'Alice in Wonderland' that it can open doors of a world of possibilities .
I also had a chance to see the other adorable baubles, like the Wonderland, Queen of Hearts, and limited Fox charm necklaces, and limited Fox ring, that make up the Stella and Dot Alice by Temperley line. The best part? Everything is in the range of$39 to $158. Simply fabulous!
When can one get their hands on this beautiful collection? Right now!The launch of the Stella and Dot Alice by Temperley started today (October 1, 2012). Fall is looking very exciting right now!
