I always have a difficult time packing for trips longer than two or three days. It’s hard for me because when I try to pull clothes there becomes too many variables – the weather, my mood, the occasion, spontaneous activities where I might, just maybe, need a five pound snow coat. Being away from the comfort of my closet and endless possibilities leads me to talk my way into needing everything, especially when it comes to shoes. I like variety and options – it’s comforting. However, with my recent two week break from school, I was forced to pack for variables and occasions out of my comfort zone. What will I where for lunch with my best friends? And what will I wear for that spontaneous farewell party my sister will decide to throw the day before my departure? This can be a problem for people like me who like to be prepared and plan outfits a couple days in advance. I have found that the less-is-more approach is best when it comes to preparing for long voyages away from home. Choosing clothes that can layer, convert, and the basics can lend to endless possibilities and combinations {but don’t forget to save room for some standout pieces like that fur vest or those jazzy gold pants} Today, my creativity came up with a layered look which started with a basic, soft long sleeve, then a chambray with a nod to the acid washed trend from the 80′s, and topped with an single toned sweater which has detachable hand warmers. Paired with basic jeans, a versatile bag and an oxfords completes the look. Never forgo fashion for limited luggage space!

Please follow and come back for another daily dose of fashion.
